DC based author Rufi Thorpe's debut novel The Girls from Corona del Mar is published August 14, and is set to be one of the UK's hottest summer reads this year.

The novel, about 'hard-hearted' Mia and 'untouchably beautiful, kind' Lorrie Ann, is a coming-of-age tale set in the author's hometown and focuses on the ups and downs of female friendship as the two friends make different choices, grow apart from each other and come back together again. The hard-hitting book's already gained a range of positive reviews, and was described by author Maggie Shipstead as 'generous, soulful, and tough' and an 'open-hearted, open-eyed debut'.
